Rescue Me ID: 16-08-24-00439Jack (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

Meet Jack! He is a 1.5 year old, 35lbs, spaniel/border collie mix looking for his forever home. Jack has some trust issues and will need time to decompress in his new home. He is happy to sit quietly in his crate for a few weeks while he gets used to new people. Once he's given space to relax he is happy go-lucky dog that loves attention! Jack is more comfortable around women, but with time learns to trust men as well. Jack is a great listener despite the fact that he is a nervous Nelly! He will exit and enter his crate upon command and will come when called (although he likes to stay a few feet away initially). Jack also has ... (Read More)lived with other dogs and loved it! We think he would warm up quicker to his humans if he had a dog friend to learn from. Jack would love a new home where he can get the socialization and basic training he needs! Could that be you? See more pictures and updates here: https://www.facebook.com/Katiesfosterdog/ If you are interested in finding out more about Jack, please fill out an application on our website by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://www.brokentailrescue.org/adoption-application/%A0 Jack is being fostered in Medford, MA and the adoption fee is $350. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Domestic Cat    Age: Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'Hi, I'm Hagrid! Who are you? We are going to be friends, I just know it.' If Hagrid could talk, this is how he would introduce himself to new people, human and feline alike. It never occurs to him that he might be hissed at or be overlooked. Why waste time with silly things like when there are toys to play with and bellies to be rubbed? Hagrid is a self-confident, friendly 10-month old boy who likes other cats and humans without reservation. He's a big fan of falling asleep in your arms, but he is still all kitten. Check out his gravity-defying leaps in the video as a demonstration of his youthful energy. Hagrid is in foster care and is ... (Read More)recovering from a successful eye surgery. . Rescue Me ID: 15-07-31-00358Pumba (male)

Irish Wolfhound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Pumba is an 8yr old Shepard-Poodle mix. His name was given to him because of his similar appearance to Pumba from The Lion King; he has an incredible underbite and had long hair on his back with short hair on the sides! Also, like puma from the Lion King, our Pumba has a ton of energy to offer. He loves to play and go for walks and occasional jogs. A difference with our Pumba is that he is a perfect 25lbs and rarely ever talks/ bark. Although Pumba has made wonderful strides in his training program, he is still working on overcoming some trust issues, but he has been doing great. Pumba's adopter will need to continue to work with him ... (Read More)post adoption. But a training plan is in place and his trainer will be made available to help out whenever. If he could talk we're pretty sure this is how he'd describe himself: 'Hi! I'm Pumba and have a lot of love to give a new family. I love to cuddle, play outside and will follow you around everywhere. I love to go on walks and occasional jogs, it doesn't matter what time of day it is (Although, my foster dad says I have to work on my leash manners - I just can't wait to go go go!). I know how to 'sit' and 'stay', to 'get down', to 'wait', to 'leave it', and to 'drop it'. I am also potty trained and will only do my business outside, a well a crate trained. The greatest issue that I am working to overcome is meeting new people. I LOVE my family and friends who I am comfortable with, but I am having a hard time with new people. I really do not like strangers touching me, although I will gently take a treat from the person. And the same goes for dogs, I do not like my space invaded by a dog that I do not know, but with time and adequate training I can learn to get along. My past as a stray and then from shelter to foster homes has made me a bit more anxious and frightened with strangers, but I promise I can be an amazing companion and forever loyal -in time. To those who have fostered me, they can speak of the bundle of joy and love I become once I get comfortable around them. I will never cease to wag my tail when you call my name, when I see you in the morning or back from work, or when you play with me. I do not need much, just someone who can be consistent and loving.' Rescue Me ID: 14-10-06-00600Maddie (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, I'm Maddie! I'm a loving 45lb, 3.5 year old Whippet/Pitbull mix. Not to brag, but I am extremely smart. I am house-trained, crate-trained, and know many commands;%A0%A0 sit, down, paw, wait.%A0 I'm willing to learn more too if you have a treat, a toy, or some love- I'm not picky.%A0 I also love walks and can go for miles and miles.%A0 I do not %A0pull on my leash because I want to be right next to you the whole time, not in front.%A0 What kind of walk would it be if I'm not even next to you?!%A0 This makes me a great running partner! I sometimes get a little too excited if I see something cool, but with a little reminding I'm ... (Read More)right back at your side. %A0 %A0 I used to live with dogs and loved it!%A0 Having a dog friend to run around with is the best. I live with humans and cats now, which is pretty great too because I only have to share my cuddle time and belly rubs with my cat buddy. %A0 I'm wary of strangers (shouldn't we all be?) and may growl at them, but if I'm introduced slowly and properly, I'll be their best friend! Sometimes I get spooked by things I can't explain so I should be with an adopter who knows how to watch for my behavior changes and redirect my attentions. Formal training would really benefit me and it would also help develop my bond with my new family! Ideally, a quiet home with no kids would be best for me! I love to play and really need to be kept stimulated since I'm very intelligent. My favorite games are tug of war, fetch, and keep away.%A0 I get pretty into it, but once my foster parents says 'drop it' I know it's time to let go.%A0 I get really excited about play time, so much so that my whole body wags and my tail whips around really fast.%A0 It could definitely knock down a small child so adults are best for me to play with. I would really love to learn more games and do more training so I'm kept stimulated and not bored. %A0 Moving is a hassle, so I'd really love a home to grow up in.%A0 Preferably a place where we can be really active and learn new things together!
