American Bulldog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

Hi! My name is Roxanne. I am estimated to be 3 years old and weigh about 51 lbs.. The best word to describe me is Exuberant! I just love people and attention. I get so excited that I jump up to greet friends, forgetting that although I am not tall, I am a sturdy girl. My foster mom tells me I am built like a tank. She is working hard to teach me not to jump up and I am starting to understand that my people will be happier to see me if I don't act like a battering ram. That same excitement extends to going for walks. When I see that leash I get so excited that I run in circles. Kind of hard to get a leash on a moving target. Once ... (Read More)on the leash, I pull! I will need continued training to learn to curb my enthusiasm. All that aside, in the house I am an awesome girl. I am house and crate trained, quiet and non-destructive. My idea of paradise is lying on a dog bed or rolling in the grass. I am good with other dogs and cats. I just want to love and be loved. I have an excellent appetite. I love my food and peanut butter is a favorite treat. I am completing a course of antibiotics as I tested positive for Lyme disease. I suck my capsules right down when they are rolled in a little peanut butter. I have been spayed (no more puppies for me) and am up to date on my vaccinations. Unfortunately my past medical care was not what it should have been. Because of this I have Heartworm Disease. When I finish my antibiotics for Lyme, I will need to undergo treatment for the Heartworm Disease. After this treatment, I will need to be on strict exercise restrictions (leash walks only) and crate rest so that I can recover and be the healthy girl I deserve to be. My dream is to find an owner who is health conscious and will see to it that I receive the care I need. I will reward this person with unconditional love and happy wiggles for the rest of my days. Believe me you would never know by looking at me that there is anything wrong with me at all. I have a lot of energy, I just tire out quickly. A forever home is something I want more than anything. I love my foster parents but I want my very own people. If the right person does not come along, I will need to stay in foster care for the length of my treatment and recovery (several months probably). You could not hope to find a more lovable girl than me. Please think about adding me to your family. You will be doing a wonderful thing for yourself and me plus freeing up a foster home to rescue another deserving dog. Can't wait to meet you!     Meet handsome Murphy! Murphy is a five-year-old, sixty (60) pound Mastiff pittie mix who is as adorable as he is photogenic! Murphy is a charmer who makes fast friends with everyone he meets; truly Murphy loves all people. His tail is always wagging so he would do best in a home with children ten and older who won't be knocked down by the enthusiastic love for life his swishing tail shows. Though Murphy enjoys the company of other dogs, he can be initially shy, and need some time to warm up to them. Murphy would be happy to share his home with a laid-back female canine companion, tho his ideal home would not include cats. Murphy is house ... Rescue Me ID: 15-07-31-00358Pumba (male)

Irish Wolfhound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Pumba is an adorable 7 year old Shep-a-Doodle (Shepard and Poodle mix). He's a lot like Pumba from The Lion King; he has an incredible underbite and had long hair on his back with short hair on the sides! One difference is our Pumba is a perfect 35lbs! Pumba is currently making wonderful strides in a board and train program with a local trainer. He is working on many of his fears and doing great. Part of the problem is that Pumba is too smart for his own good! Pumba's adopter will need to continue to work with him post adoption. But don't worry a training plan is in place and his trainer is available to help out! If he could talk ... (Read More)we're pretty sure this is how he'd describe himself: "Hi! I'm Pumba and have a lot of love to give a new family. I love to cuddle, play outside and will follow you around everywhere. I'm not really a morning dog and love sleeping in. But if you tell me we can go on a walk, it doesn't matter what time of day it is (Although, my foster mom says I have to work on my leash manners - I just can't wait to go go go!). I know how to sit and stay, down, wait, leave it, and drop it. My ideal home would be a place with few distractions where someone is with me a lot so we can hang out. I'm definitely a ladies man. But with some time I could learn to love a male in the household too. It'll just take some patience, they make me a little nervous. I am very loyal and will make someone very happy. Oh, and one more thing - I love my stuffed animal friends! My training is going very well. The greatest issue that I am working to overcome is meeting new people. I LOVE my family and friends who I am comfortable with, but I am having a hard time with new people. I really do not like to have strangers touching me, although I will gently take a treat from the person. The same goes for dogs, I do not like my space invaded by a dog that I do not know, but I am perfectly fine with the dogs in my foster home. My adopter will be required to stay in touch with my trainer and to continue to follow my training plan. I am an amazing companion and promise to be loyal to you forever.     My name is Coach but truth be told I could use a coach. I am a two year old, astoundingly handsome, 60 lb lab mix puppy. To be totally up front with you, I am not your typical lab. If you are expecting a quiet, laid-back kind of guy, you are barking up the wrong tree. I love life and am described by my foster mom as exuberant. I am just a big kid and like most kids I need a mom and dad who can help me keep myself in check and set limits. Because I am big and oh so playful, I would do best with older human siblings (12 or older). I could accidentally knock smaller children down. I would never want to hurt anyone but sometimes I just ... (Read More)forget how big I am. I love treats and I take them very gently. When I am playing with toys though, I hang on tight. I need some work on releasing toys. I am smart and can Sit and Stay. Like any kid though, I sometimes get distracted or don't listen. I need a patient family who is committed to working with me and helping me to gain better control over my impulses. I will need lots of exercise (jogs, running in the yard, hikes, etc) and continued training to be the best dog I can be. I am still a puppy. I have lots to learn. Won't you teach me?     Hi, I'm Maddie! I'm a loving 45lb, 3.5 year old Whippet/Pitbull mix. Not to brag, but I am extremely smart. I am house-trained, crate-trained, and know many commands;%A0%A0 sit, down, paw, wait.%A0 I'm willing to learn more too if you have a treat, a toy, or some love- I'm not picky.%A0 I also love walks and can go for miles and miles.%A0 I do not %A0pull on my leash because I want to be right next to you the whole time, not in front.%A0 What kind of walk would it be if I'm not even next to you?!%A0 This makes me a great running partner! I sometimes get a little too excited if I see something cool, but with a little reminding I'm ... (Read More)right back at your side. %A0 %A0 I used to live with dogs and loved it!%A0 Having a dog friend to run around with is the best. I live with humans and cats now, which is pretty great too because I only have to share my cuddle time and belly rubs with my cat buddy. %A0 I'm wary of strangers (shouldn't we all be?) and may growl at them, but if I'm introduced slowly and properly, I'll be their best friend! Sometimes I get spooked by things I can't explain so I should be with an adopter who knows how to watch for my behavior changes and redirect my attentions. Formal training would really benefit me and it would also help develop my bond with my new family! Ideally, a quiet home with no kids would be best for me! I love to play and really need to be kept stimulated since I'm very intelligent. My favorite games are tug of war, fetch, and keep away.%A0 I get pretty into it, but once my foster parents says 'drop it' I know it's time to let go.%A0 I get really excited about play time, so much so that my whole body wags and my tail whips around really fast.%A0 It could definitely knock down a small child so adults are best for me to play with. I would really love to learn more games and do more training so I'm kept stimulated and not bored. %A0 Moving is a hassle, so I'd really love a home to grow up in.%A0 Preferably a place where we can be really active and learn new things together!
